Sheet Metal Trim Longer Trim Segments Reduce The Potential For Roof Leaks

The Problem

About 99.9% of the metal roof trim installed today is fabricated on a 10’ brake. As a result, you have several consecutive 10’ trim segments. Metal roofing trim pieces that channel water off the metal roof system, such as valleys, collect and drain water from numerous standing seam panels. Laps in valleys are even more vulnerable to leaks than laps in metal roof panels. Leaks can, however, be prevented with proper design, specification, and application.

The Solution

Architectural Building Components can manufacture a wide variety of sheet metal trim and flashings in lengths up to 32’ 6”. By using trim without laps, you can expect improved appearance and performance on your sheet metal roof. We can accommodate galvanized or Galvalume steel up to 16 gauge. Furthermore, we have the ability to manufacture trim and flashings in copper, stainless, Durazinc (weathered and protective backed pure Zinc), and aluminum. Although we provide all of our sheet metal trim components in long pieces, valleys, transitions, copings, edge trims, gutters, and downspouts offer the greatest benefits when made in the longest possible segments.

In addition, we fabricate several radius metal trim components in 10’ lengths. In many instances, curved walls and roof slopes will limit trim lengths to 3’ or less. Specify Architectural Building Components to provide improved performance on your next metal roof system or metal reroofing.
